Hello, this is Yumiko.
京都の北にある山の町「高雄（たかお）」に行ってきました。
We visited Takao, a mountain town in northern Kyoto.
ここには有名なお寺「高山寺（こうざんじ）」と「神護寺（じんごじ）」があります。
There are two famous temples here: Kozanji and Jingoji.
About Kozanji Temple
高山寺は、山の中にある小さなお寺です。
Kozanji Temple is a small temple located in the mountains.
とてもしずかで、えんがわから見る木や山がとてもきれいでした。
It was very quiet, and the view of trees and mountains from the veranda was beautiful.
ここには「鳥獣人物戯画（ちょうじゅうじんぶつぎが）」の写しもあります。
The temple houses a replica of the famous Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga scrolls.
About Jingoji Temple
神護寺は、大きな石だんの上にある 立はいなお寺です。
Jingoji Temple is a dignified temple that stands at the top of a long stone staircase.
むかしから大事な場所とされていて、今でも多くの人がおまいりに来ます。
It has been an important site for centuries, and many people still visit today.
A Refreshing Break at the River Café
お寺の見学のあと、川の近くにあるカフェによりました。
After visiting the temples, we stopped at a café near the river.
このカフェは「川床（かわゆか）」といって、川のすぐ上にあります。
This café is on a kawayuka, a deck built above the river.
ゆずサイダーを飲みながら、川の音を聞いてゆっくりできました。
We enjoyed yuzu cider and relaxed while listening to the sound of the river.
About Yuzu in Mizuho
この近くにある「水尾（みずお）」という場所は、ゆずで有名です。
Nearby Mizuho is known for its yuzu (a type of citrus fruit).
サイダーはゆずのいいかおりがして、すごくおいしかったです。
The yuzu cider smelled great and tasted very refreshing.
Final Thoughts
高山寺と神護寺、そして川のカフェで、しぜんと文化をたっぷり楽しみました。
We enjoyed both nature and culture at Kozanji, Jingoji, and the river café.
またちがうきせつにも、ゆっくり来たいと思います。
I’d love to visit again in another season.
