家族で、京都にお茶つみに行ってきました。
We went tea picking in Kyoto with our family.
お茶つみは、お茶の葉を手でとることです。
Tea picking means picking tea leaves by hand.
天気もよく、子どもたちも楽しくすごしました。
The weather was nice, and the children had a great time.
Picking the Leaves
新しい葉を、一つ一つていねいに手でとりました。
We carefully picked each new leaf by hand.
お茶のよいかおりがして、とても気もちがよかったです。
The tea smelled nice and made us feel calm.
Drying the Leaves
家に帰ってから、ホットプレートで葉をかわかしました。
After we got home, we dried the tea leaves using a hot plate.
ゆっくり時間をかけて、しっかり水分をとばします。
We slowly dried the leaves to remove the water.
Kneading the Tea
かわかした葉を、手でよくもみました。
We kneaded the dried leaves well by hand.
少し力がいりますが、だんだんお茶の形になっていきました。
It took some strength, but they slowly turned into real tea.
Final Thoughts
自分でとって、作ったお茶はとてもおいしかったです。
The tea we made by ourselves tasted very good.
ふだんの生活ではできない、とくべつな体験になりました。
It was a special experience that we don’t usually get to have.
